Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for more than 45 years, focusing on people suffering from the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry has been a reporter in war zones such as Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and television news reporter and anchor who is most famous for her job as a correspondent for the Today show, a news morning program aired through the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was well-known for her reporting of natural disasters and humanitarian crises which occurred in war-ravaged areas. Curry is the daughter of a U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. Curry's parents were married in Japan in Japan, in which her father was stationed after World War II. Her father served in the military, and she moved around a lot. Curry attended high school in the city of Ashland, Oregon. In 1978 she graduated from in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She was exposed to a variety of cultures and the experiences she had during her growing up probably influenced her approach to communicating about global issues. Curry moved around a lot together with her husband as well as did not go to any school more than two years. She attended schools located in San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. In the end, she was able to graduate from Ashland High School. In the role of an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon, she started her career as a broadcaster. She became the first woman journalist for the station when she was just 22. Then, she stepped onto becoming an anchor reporter and anchor for KGW, an NBC affiliate station in Portland. In Los Angeles, she became a reporter on KCBS TV four years after making the move to the city. The two Emmy Awards were won during her six year association with TV station KCBS.
